Telenor 4G · 5G

Picking a plan and buying it early

Two kinds of plan cover Denmark: fixed data allowances running from 1GB to 50GB, and unlimited access sold by the day. Which one fits depends on how long the trip runs and how the data gets used.

Fixed data plans, sized to the trip

The fixed data options span 1GB for a week up to 50GB for a month, with 3GB, 5GB, 10GB and 20GB sizes in between, all running on TDC/nuuday and Telenor over 4G and 5G. If you mainly use maps, messaging and ride-hailing apps such as Uber and Bolt, a smaller plan usually covers the trip. Streaming video or uploading through the day calls for a larger size. Hotspot and tethering work on every one of these plans, so a phone can share its connection with a laptop or another device. When a fixed data plan's data is used up, a top-up on the same eSIM restores it, so a size can always be extended if the trip runs longer than planned.

Unlimited by the day

For travellers who would rather not track a data total, the unlimited plans use Telia and Three over 3G and 4G, priced by the day from a single day up to thirty. This suits short, data-heavy visits, a conference, a few days of steady navigation and video calls, where counting gigabytes is beside the point. Each plan carries a fair use policy: past a daily amount, speed is reduced for the rest of that day.

Buying before the trip

Validity begins at the first connection to a network in Denmark, not at purchase or installation. An eSIM installed days or weeks ahead of departure sits ready and costs nothing until it is actually used, so there is no reason to wait until landing to set it up.
