Data allowance or unlimited days

The fixed data plans give you a set allowance to use over the plan's validity window, from a single week at 1GB up to a full month at 50GB, all on KPN's 4G/5G network. If the allowance runs out before the trip does, a top-up on the same eSIM adds more data, so a smaller plan does not mean buying a new one partway through the trip.

The unlimited plans work differently: these are sold as a number of days rather than a fixed data amount, from a single day up to a full month, all on KPN's 3G/4G network. Each day carries a fair use policy, so a fast pace slows for the rest of that day and picks back up the next. This suits someone who wants to stop thinking about data entirely, using their phone for messaging, maps, video calls and everything in between the way they would at home.

Hotspot and when the clock starts

Hotspot and tethering are included on every plan, fixed data or unlimited, so a laptop or a second device can share the connection without a separate plan. Validity itself doesn't start when the eSIM is bought or installed: it begins the first time it connects to a network in the Netherlands. That makes it possible to install the eSIM before flying and have everything ready on arrival, without losing any of the plan's days.
