Will your eSIM work if your phone is not PTA-registered?

Pakistan's PTA device registration rules control local SIM service on a phone brought in from abroad, not international roaming. A traveller holding an international SIM or eSIM is allowed to use the Pakistani mobile network as a roamer without registering the device. Your DataFly plan connects the same way, over international roaming rather than as a local subscription, so a PTA-unregistered phone still works with it.

Two ordinary requirements still apply: your phone needs to be eSIM-capable and carrier-unlocked. PTA approval is what your plan does not need, not the unlock.

Choosing a data size

Plans here are sold by the gigabyte, and there are no unlimited options. If you mainly use maps, messaging and browsing, a smaller size usually covers a short trip; if you stream video or share your connection with a laptop, a larger one gives you more room. When a plan's data is used up it stops, and a top-up restores it on the same eSIM.

Setting up before you arrive

You can install your eSIM as soon as you buy it. Validity only begins when your phone first connects to a network in Pakistan, so installing before you fly costs you nothing while you wait. Hotspot and tethering are included on every plan, so you can share your connection with another device once you land.
